The studio is almost entirely filled with a sprung dance floor. The dancers should put their ballet bags/shoes on the bookshelves during class so we can keep the floor clear for the next class of dancers to enter and warm-up.
Please move to the hallway if you want to have a conversation or use your phone, but please remember there are other businesses and keep the noise to a minimum.
Parents and dancers should read the full etiquette and dress code list (on the menu under Policies and Dress Code) for studio rules. but these are some of the basic rules to know:
Never wear ballet shoes outside the studio or wear street shoes in the studio
Cover your ballet clothes when leaving class
Don’t come late—dancers will not be allowed to participate if they miss plies
Don’t leave early. If you must, get permission before class and exit as quickly and discreetly as possible
Please contact me if you are unable to come to class
The public bathrooms are located to the right and down the hall from my studio door. This is also our dressing room, it has plenty of space, many stalls and good mirrors. These bathrooms are shared with the entire floor/building. I will not be able to leave the studio to bring children to the bathroom. Each parent will have to decide whether their child is old enough to use the bathroom on their own—it is the parent’s responsibility to stay for the class if they are not comfortable letting their child use the bathroom alone.
There are drinking fountains in the hallway. I will not be able to help students get water at the fountains. Water bottles are allowed with their dance bags for before and after class.
Intermediate and Advanced students need to be warmed up before their classes, they should arrive at least 15 minutes before start time in order to be mentally and physically prepared for class. Other levels should be there at least 5 minutes before class having used the bathroom and be properly dressed. Dancers must wait until their class time to enter the dance floor.
