Dress Code

Fall/Spring Dress Code

Tights

  • Underwear is not to be worn under ballet uniform! Performances require specific tights.**
  • Everyday classes can wear any brand of fully footed theatrical pink or ballet pink colored tights (mesh/no mesh, seam/no seam). Nothing shiny/ decorated/ sweater or knit/ bright pink/ nylons/ colors.
  • Boys wear black tights and dance belt, white socks and black or white shoes.

Ballet slippers

  • Ballet students must wear theatrical pink ballet slippers, boys may choose white or black.
  • Pre-Ballet I,II, and Beginning I & II- Full soled leather shoes preferred. Intermediate/Advanced levels may wear ballet shoes of their choice. Purchase them in the proper size—do not buy shoes with room to grow or shoes from Walmart, Target etc. These do not form to the foot so teachers cannot correct improper placement. Ladies–No bright pink/nude/ black/white.

Ballet Movement

Ballet slippers required. Dancers may wear any color/style leotard—no tutus, costumes, sequins, glitter, feathers, etc. Tights are preferred, but optional.

Pre-Ballet

Dancers must wear proper tights, and may wear any color/style leotard, with or without skirt—no tutus, costumes, sequins, glitter, feathers, etc.

Basic / Technique / Beginning / Intermediate/ Advanced

Ladies will wear any style black leotard and pink tights. Skirts are allowed for rehearsals during Nutcracker season, and variation classes. Boys wear tights and dance belt and white or black T-shirt.

Conditioning

Students may wear any athletic clothes, but non bulky clothing is preferred so I can see your body enough to correct it. Please bring something to put on the floor (a shirt/towel/ yoga mat) to keep both you and the floor clean. Students should wear socks.

Adults

May wear any athletic clothes, although tights or leggings are the easiest to move in. Please no pants with zippers as they may scratch the floor. Beginning students may start in socks but ballet slippers will be required if continuing to center work.

Summer Session Dress Code

Beginning / Intermediate / Advanced

May wear any solid color leotard with their pink tights and ballet slippers. Skirts are allowed for all variations classes, technique class center, and pointe class.

Modern

Students are encouraged to dance barefoot, but may wear socks if they find it uncomfortable.
