Studio

Policies

Please register to reserve your place in class. All payments need to be made before class starts.

It is courteous to let me know if your dancer is unable to attend class.

Parents are responsible for helping dancers be on time (for ballet that means about 10 minutes early) and properly prepared for class including time for a bathroom run, hair in a proper bun, and wearing the correct attire.

Parents are encouraged to drop their dancers off, but are welcome to observe class if the following rules are followed:

  • Do not talk to or correct or interact with your child during class. Ballet requires self motivation, self discipline, and focus. It is my job to help them learn these skills and works best if there is no distraction or competition for attention.
  • NO cellphones in the studio for both students and parents. Phones should be stored with sound and vibration turned off, please move to the hallway to use your phone. When your child is monitoring what you are paying attention to it becomes a distraction for the class.
  • There is absolutely NO filming without specific permission. It is a distraction, and invasive to the privacy of the other children, parents and teacher in the class.

Closures due to weather, illness, or holidays will be announced on both instagram and facebook please follow @strictlyballetarts for up to date information.

Schedule and classes are subject to change.

DANCERS:

  • Cell phones and smart watches need to be turned off before entering the studio, stowed in your bag, and not checked until the end of class-preferably after you have entered the hallway.
  • Warm up clothes, leg warmers, T-shirts, etc are just that warm up clothes. I encourage you to wear them before class, but have them off before plies. Beginning II-Advanced dancers should get there at least 15 minutes before class in order to warm up.
  • Don’t “hang” or slouch on the barre or anywhere else, for that matter.
  • Be attentive at all times, especially when waiting for your turn.
  • Beware of negative body language (like folded arms).
  • Never sit down unless you are asked to.
  • Raise your hand if you need to leave the dance floor for any reason.
  • It’s okay to mark combinations (the one currently being danced) while you wait for your turn, if you are out of the way.
  • At the end of class, applaud or thank the instructor.
